Hi! This is Sheri and I'm thrilled to show a few images I shot of my "great' nephew Aiden and 'great' niece Gracie. Aiden is 7 days fresh -- nice and bendy. He slept through most of the session, which is good. And we only had a couple of minor clean-ups to do! Gracie is 8 months old and such a sweetheart. This was her first photo shoot and she was psyched, however by the end of the session she was so 'over it.' So, with no further ado.....I'd like to introduce to you Gracie and Aiden.

Best of You Boudoir!!!!!!!!

We've been chomping at the bit and the new site is finally online for Best of you Boudoir. Adrienne and Sheri have been working, shooting, editing and having lots of fun. They are handling that aspect of the business so it will be an all female operation. While we were out in Vegas, Adrienne spent a few days working with some of the best boudoir photographers in the world. She brought back some great ideas and a wealth of knowledge. Boudoir is a huge genre of photography and it has slowly been making its way to the Midwest over the past few years, so we are very excited that this is something we can offer our clients. Their tag line says it best "Best of You Boudoir, classy images for the man in your life." A boudoir session makes a great gift for that special guy in your life. We are also working to include a boudoir session in all of our wedding packages, brides keep your eyes out for that one. Well not quite yet. We celebrated in the studio a few days early but it was all for good reason. Calleigh, her mom, and her dad all stopped by yesterday for a short little session. Talk about a happy little girl.. She was smiles nearly the entire time and only once did this little cutie even make the slightest little grumble about what we were doing. It was short lived and she was once again back to the smiles. Thanks guys for coming over. We love these images and are certain you will too.

Lindsey's Maternity Session

Ryan and Lindsey came over this weekend and we setup a few shots with them. You might remember them from their wedding we shot last summer. We love these two and the brought another little guy we love a lot too. Nolan came to play with the girls and was nice enough to stop a few times and get his picture taken too. We had a great time visiting with them and hope to get to produce images of little Kenzie when she enters this world. Thanks guys for coming over we wish you the best.

Tosha came out today for her senior session and the results of her session show how it went. She was a really fun young lady that was a blast for us to work with. We had Eula, Dianna, Mellisa, Lacy, and Paige all over at once for a group session. Having 5 generations of their family over was a real honor for us. Little Paige was a champ and really made the session a breeze for us all. Thanks again Ladies for the visit we had a great time.

We were graced by the presence of yet another beautiful baby girl. Stella stopped back by for her 6 month session. She is enrolled in our baby plan so she was here in September for her 3 month session. She was a little tire but we managed to have a wonderful session thanks to those smiles she throws at the camera. I usually try to edit my first run down to about 40 images for a session like this...I now sit at 100 images :( I have some work to do and some tough decisions. At any rate the images from her session are cute as can be. Thanks guys for coming back we love shooting this little one.

If you've been to the studio in the last 6 months or so, you've met "our Sheri." Sheri is an amazingly talented artist and we are so incredibly grateful that she has decided to be part of our team. Sheri possesses a passion for photography that is matched only by a select few and it shows in the images she makes. Over the past few months she has been learning more about the way we do things and familiarizing herself with our equipment. We are pro-hazing here at the studio so you will all be glad to know that Sheri has had her initiation swirly though we spared her the traditional wedgy and she is now ready to go. Sheri will be taking on some of our child sessions and she will also be our main boudoir photographer. Now, with my incredible charm, good looks and talent ;)LOL!, Adrienne's style, attitude and creativity and Sheri's passion, sweetness, ideas, artistry and flat-out mad skills, Rowe Portrait Studios and our clients have some fantastic things coming in 2009. I got to hang out with an old friend today. Clay brought his wife, Allison, and their son, Nolan, for his 3 month session. It was really nice to see him and his family and Nolan was nothing short of a trooper, keeping awake for us to capture some really cool images. Olivia wanted to do something special to celebrate her first birthday. After much thought, she wondered what better way to celebrate than some cake and pictures at Rowe Portrait Studios. Grace came back for her 9 month session. She was here for her 3mo. and 6mo. last year and I'm convinced this little one is on some sort of cuteness training regimen because every time she comes the images just get better and better. If I had to guess what the weather would be like on Dec. 27, I don't think I would have guessed 72 deg. with 30 mph winds. Though I'm a jack of many trades, I don't think that the title "weatherman" will ever be given to me. The day was perfect for Andy and Angie. The ceremony was in a beautiful little church and went off without so much as a hitch. These two make such a great couple and we are honored that we were able to be a part of their special day. Thanks guys it was a great time.

So we've been AWOL for a little bit. Sorry about that we needed a little Disney time so we took a break from the photo world and after all of our Xmas orders were done we took the girls to get their Princess swerve on. We came back and took a few moments to do a quick little maternity shoot for my brother and his wife. They don't know it yet but I will not fail at convincing them that the baby's name should be Karch after famed professional beach volleyball player Karch Kiraly... I digress from my previous digression. Anyway, enjoy these images of my brother Jacob and his beautiful wife Lindsey with a guest appearance from the yet unborn Karch Allen Rowe.

Four Generations

Our good friend, Audrey, bought a gift card for her mother a while back and Sunday they cashed that gift card in on a session with four generations. Mary, Lynn, Audrey, Mallory and Jenna too all came over and we had a blast creating these special images for them. Little Mallory stole the show and was in a great mood. Bri's Senior Session

Bri came over for part 2 of her senior session on Sunday. She's a beautiful young lady with a great attitude and shooting her was a pleasure. I have to say though that I had a moment when I was shooting her that kinda made me realize what kind of girl she is. Here I am thinking this is the first girl wrestler I've shot who is also wearing a cast because of a broken arm. As I'm thinking this she is lifting her "motorcycle" up on its stand with that same broken arm! Anyway she is one tough girl and I'm sure great things are in store for her.

The Boes Family

Sunday, we enjoyed a visit from the Boes family. I really had a blast hanging out with these guys and little Nicholas was such a trooper. His only protest coming when his mom was putting on his "pj's" and can you blame him, it was early and he had just gotten out of his "pj's" from the night before. "Come on mom!" Anyway this is a wonderful family and I'm thankful I had the opportunity to spend the morning with them. Thanks guys, can't wait to see you again.

The Sorgius Family

The last session of the weekend was the Sorgius Family. What can I say? I had fun as usual, watching the littlest one run wild in the studio and following her time line and snapping pictures throughout the whole event. I really love shooting like that because you can really capture the children being themselves. The images are really nice and I'm sure they love them as much as we do. Thanks guys it was fun.

We visited the Oxley's last weekend at their beautiful home. The weather was a little chilly but still beautiful outside. We were pretty lucky to be able to shoot outside in the last of November. This family was a blast and we were able to get some great images for them in a fairly short time. Thanks guys for having us out it was a great time.

Lenzie was here for part II of her session with us on Saturday. It was really cold and really wet outside. There were worries of bad hair and wet clothes but I was persistent enough that I managed to talk her into going outside and freezing with us for a few minutes. Ashley's Senior Session

Our second shoot today was Ashley. Get this, this gorgeous young woman, not only had a "hair emergency" the day before but also was fighting a vicious cold. She wasn't about to let that stop her and she showed up at our studio with a great attitude and was ready for whatever we could come up with. Emily was back today for some pictures in her Christmas Dress. She was the first of our 3 little ones today and she set the tone for what was to come. Our little friend Trisha came over for our Friday night session this evening. She was a little ball of energy. It's funny to watch kids her age dart from one piece of interestingness to another. We just kept putting new seats out there for her and then we would take advantage of the .25 sec. of stillness. She did great and the pictures are nothing less than amazing.

We had round 2 of Kevin's session Sunday before Adrienne and I ran off to the Colts vs. Patriots game (GO COLTS!) Kevin is a good kid that we really enjoyed hangin' with. After shooting some in the studio we went up town and stopped traffic on Main St. for a while before heading out to a spot he had picked out. There was some really cool scenery for us to use and some awesome old machinery to use as props. All in all this was one of my favorites sessions in a while. I'm lovin' the images that I've worked so far and can't wait for you all to see them. See below. I just realized that we forgot our end of session pic with Kevin, Adrienne, and I (we'll have to make that one up.

Ethan and his family came over the other day. Ethan wasn't too excited about getting his picture taken but once we loosened him up a bit he didn't seem to mind at all. Kaiden came to the studio right before I left for Philly and I was unable to shoot his session. My back went out (most pain I've ever felt) so our "secret" shooter stepped up and took charge. Like I've said before, I'll announce soon who the secret is but as you can see from the images, she's a very talented photographer. Kaiden was such a great kid right up until the very end of the session. He was sure to let us know when he had had enough. Oddly, it was right about the time his mother put his Halloween costume on...."Dragon Down!"

Workshop day 2.....

Well as I'm sitting here in my hotel room finishing my editing from today. I'm looking out my window and seeing the fireworks in South Philly from the World Series Celebration. A pretty cool way to top off a pretty cool day. It was cold as "insert inappropriate comment of your choice here" today but we went to the old State Penitentiary downtown for our session. The models were very gutsy and never complained at all in the very cold and windy conditions. I was dressed pretty warmly and my butt was freakin' freezing. None the less I was again surrounded by some amazing photogs and I enjoyed getting to see how they work. I again tried shooting in ways that I don't normally subscribe to and I'm loving the extra tools I'm gaining by doing so. Here are few images I managed to capture from the day.

I'm attending an amazing workshop with some really phenomenal photographers in New Jersey this week. So far it has been really cool. The people I've met have just been fantastic and while the weather has left much to be desired so far, I've been able to still capture some really cool images that are a bit of a departure from what I normally would go after. Zack, who is no stranger to our studio, visited yesterday for his senior session. We had a blast, he's a really a fun kid with a great attitude. We all went out to Pike State Forest for the latter part of his session. The fall colors were amazing and I'm glad we were able to shoot him in that environment. He lucked out and didn't get his pic taken with me and Adrienne at the end of his session so We'll have to track him down later to grab that one. Thanks Zack. Enjoy!

The Schafer Kids.

We had the Schafer children over yesterday for a short little session. Little Dagen gave us a run for our money. Who would have thought that an 18mo. old little boy wouldn't want to sit still???? RRRRight..... Anyway, we were able to capture these children in shots that would make any parent proud. These are 3 fantastic kids and it was a pleasure having them over for the session. Monica's Maternity Session

Monica and Dustin came over for her maternity session tonight. She only has 6 weeks left so we wanted to get her in before her big day. We captured some great images for them to have and cherish in the years to come. We also had a little fun with a few images. I think I'm gonna order a 100x60 inch canvas of the one with Monica's funny face. I plan on displaying it proudly at the Ultimate Look where she and Adrienne work. Emily's Head Shots.

Emily came over for some head shots today. She is involved in theater projects all over the place and needed some prints for promotional purposes. We snapped a few inside as well as out and had a good time doing it. Her mom and grandmother came over as well and I was happy to put them to work. Mom was on the reflector and Grandma was in charge of my kids (hey Adrienne is out of town what'd ya expect?). Any way we had fun as usual and I have to say Emily is totally my kind of girl. We ventured out to visit the Lewis family Sunday evening after the senior session with the twins. Christy is a good friend from way back and when she called to schedule here session I was pumped. She has a beautiful family and I knew we'd get some great images out at her parents place. Well the session didn't disappoint. We all braved the mosquitoes and came out alive with awesome stuff. Bree might have a few scars from the HUGE bites she had but I know she had fun playing with her new found friends. Well we really had fun with these girls Sunday. They were a blast to shoot and were pretty much up for what ever we could come up with. They brought along their mom and it was Bree's job to keep her entertained ;) Anyway, like I said, we had a blast. We were glad to get the opportunity to shoot Celia's senior session yesterday and let me tell ya....This girl had lots of attitude. I had a blast with our back and forth banter. So much so that at times I forgot I was shooting. We, of course, shot in the studio then moved out for some more natural scenery. Thanks to Bev at the Azalea Path for letting us use her place and the stunning scenery there for some awesome shots as well. Celia, we had a great time and hope you did as well. My uncle Jamie found this site and I thought I'd have a little fun too. I'll have to get some quick shots with my head turned better for some of them, but it was fun anyway. Session 3 was a tale of 2 Daniels. Well not really...just me behind the camera and Daniel in front of it. This young man was not unlike most guys that come to the studio. He was kind of unsure what to expect but he let loose and had some fun once we got him going. I'm posting these a little out of order today. Our first session of the morning was Stella. She is signed up for our baby plan so you'll be seeing this beautiful little lady a few more times. She was such an easy going baby (don't worry I got her to cry for my crying baby shots though). We had fun hangin' with her mom and dad too. It's getting close to 10 years ago now that Darin performed our marriage ceremony at his church. Well today we got to repay that favor...a little bit at least. His family came over and we ran them through the paces. I kept having to slow myself
down because I was ripping through the session so quickly that I kept feeling that I was missing something. Well, I realized that I didn't have a 6 month old or 3 dogs to try to pose. I was spoiled by having 4 people that I could actually pose. Though the session was a quick one I'm sure you'll agree that images are top notch. Thanks for the fun Nossett family, we had a blast.

Before the great winds of '08, was the great wedding of '08 for Nathan and Mindy. We had the honor of being there to capture the great moments as they unfolded. I've been a little slow at getting to this post so I've put a few more pics up for you all to look at. We had a great time at the wedding and I know the guests did as well. Nathan and Mindy sure know how to throw a party and not just for the adults. I'd like to go on record now and say that of all the weddings I've been a part of through DJ'ing, photography etc., I've never seen as many little ones shakin' their booties like there were at this reception. There must have been 20 or so under 5 years old just having a blast. Good times. Anyway without further delay....here's Mr. and Mrs. Nate Dog.

Lions, tigers, power outages and zapped computers oh my! Well almost 48 hours after the wind we now have power again. Unfortunately, the main editing station I use didn't fair so well. After my panic attack and contemplating a move to Mac, I have regained my senses and repaired the problem. 3 gigs of bad ram! 3 different sticks all with 3 different problems. Kids it goes to show you that persistence in trouble shooting and keeping the problems simple will almost always get you back in business. BTW. I'd like to take this chance to share that at no time were the images in danger of being lost. I have every session backed up in triplicate with 1 copy of every session stored in a secure off site location guarded by my team of trained attack pigeons. Seriously though I do keep a copy off site in case something catastrophic happened here. I hope to have my pc back to "full power" later tonight and begin editing to get us back on schedule. As of right now I am about 1 week behind the 4 weeks I quote after our sessions. I usually get most of my editing done Sunday night and Monday night so the 2 days without power really did put me a week behind. I'm sorry for any trouble this might cause and if you have any issues with this give us.....ahem, I mean Adrienne a call.

Saturday afternoon brought Stephanie in front of our lens. This beautiful young lady was an absolute blast to photograph. Adrienne and I had a great time. We got to play with little Aubrey today. Her Mom and Grandmother brought her over for a few shots this morning. This little one was a bit shy, not unlike most her age so we had do "distract" her once in a while. Evan's 18 month session

As a husband you have to pick your battles, ya know? When Adrienne said she wanted to put Bree in the Labor Day pageant, I was completely against it but in the end I gave up and decided to end my protest. Well I'm glad I did because, although Bree didn't win anything she had a blast. Thanks to the organizers of the Pageant for making it fun for the girls and congratulations to the 3 deserving winners. We were able to shoot a newborn session tonight. Amanda and Matt brought over their new little baby boy, Daxyn. Like most newborns getting their picture taken, Daxyn wasn't very happy about it. Luckily for us.....he couldn't really go anywhere. We got to try out some images we've wanted to do for a while now and we're really pleased with the results. My family loves football and Daxyn comes from a family that feels the same way about he old pigskin. So naturally the football ideas just fit perfectly for this session. I really love how the images turned out and I know you all will too. Thanks guys for letting us capture these moments from the start of Daxyn's life. Check below for a preview of the session.

Psst. Come here. Wanna know a secret? I didn't shoot any of these shots and neither did Adrienne. We've got someone special that will be behind the camera from time to time helping us out. The Ayers and Bartley Families

The Ayres and Bartley families got together today for a short little session. We got some stuff from the various groups and also some fun stuff at the end of the day. The families live near each other and have some really beautiful land at their homes. Great scenery for photos so not much work was required on our part. Lacy's Senior Session

We finished off yesterday with a fun young lady, Lacy. She was a little shy at first. Like most that come to our studio, she didn't quite know what to expect. Once she realized Adrienne and I are here to have a good time, she loosened up and we snapped some awesome images. On a side note I was checking on some stats from the website tonight. I found it really cool that since Jan. 1 of this year we have been visited from people in 61 countries around the world and people have looked at our site from all but 4 states in the US. I never really figured that we would have such a response in our first year of business. We've got lots planned for the rest of 08 and into 09 so stay tuned......

For the second session of the day we had Emily over and ran her through the paces. She's such and outgoing and fun girl and the session matched up perfectly with her personality. We stretched the session out over a pretty good chunk of the day and shot everywhere from on my roof to in her dad's junk pile. Her sis'n'law, Audrey (you've seen her before), helped out all day long as "reflector girl" and made our day much easier. Thanks guys for such a fun day. The Boyd Family

For our first session today we had the pleasure of shooting for the Boyd family. Take a beautiful little young lady and her two twin sisters, through in their good looking parents and you have the start of some really special pictures. We got to do another 4 generation shot today. These 4 ladies came to the studio today and we had the honor of capturing them all together. Great Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother and Daughter....that's so cool. Anyway we also grabbed some shots of Halley by herself and of all the babies I've shot so far, she was the happiest. Smiles, smiles, smiles!!!! Not to slide from tradition, we shot until this happy baby showed the tired eyes and grumpy cries. Pain is beauty my dear ;) The images are great and I'm sure they will love them. Thanks again, ladies, we had fun.

I ran across this link Udsigt Photography today and I have to say it makes me feel pretty great. Peter, the guy who wrote it, has commented on our blog before and I'm pretty sure I've communicated via email with him before, though I can't seem to find the emails I'm thinking of. He also participates in a forum that I also do and I know he sees some really great work on a regular basis. So to receive a compliment like this means a lot. Any way, thanks Peter for the very kind words. I want you to know we really appreciate it. Any way I have to get out of the room I'm in right now my head is getting too big for it. :)

We had our 1 day workshop with John Michael Cooper today. I have to be honest to say that I didn't expect to learn much in a 1 day workshop. Holly hot wings Batman! I sure was wrong about that one. This workshop was absolutely amazing. The info that John and his wife Dalisa shared was priceless and I look forward to the next time I get to see them. The workshop was held in Athens, IL which is a lot like Oakland City, small, rural town. Our group got lots of looks especially when John was shooting the moc bridal with the UFO attack theme. As a bonus, Adrienne and I acted as models for the morning part of the workshop and had some great "engagement" pictures taken. We love them especially since our real engagement pics were marginally better than what you would get at Sears. We met some flat out bitchin' photogs from lands far and near and we will be keeping in touch with those folks. Here are a couple of quick shots I took during the day. Oh and that beautiful face on the monitors in the second pic....Yeah that's my smokin' hot wife.

Ok here's the deal. It's 2:07 and I'm stoked 'cause Adrienne and I are going to learn from photo phenomenon John Michael Cooper of altf. So if I ramble a bit here, my apologies. Today we had an awesome, awesome shoot with Alyssa. Her senior pics are gonna be so freakin' awesome. As you can see she's a beautiful young woman with amazing eyes. We took her out to the Azalea Path and hit a few of the spots around that amazing place. Side note, Bev Knight and here husband have done an amazing job there and if you haven't had a chance to check it out stop waiting and pay them a visit (remember to leave a donation though :) ). Getting back to Alyssa. her session was a blast and we are getting together with her again for some really cool TTD shots stay tuned for those. Thanks Alyssa for a great time, we loved it.
