Whales, a surprise wedding, and a lot of fun!!

Adrienne and I are just about to return from Mexico in fact as I write this I'm sitting in the resort lobby missing out on some of the last of the sun. We came down here with Erica, Adrienne's sister and some of Erica's friends. First let me tell you about the whales. I got up early one morning to get some shots of the sun rise. As I'm sitting on the beach taking pictures I heard someone say "there he is." There was a whale swimming right across my field of view only about 200 feet off shore. He or she, who know, was there for about 10 minutes just swimming along. I got some really cool shots of that. As a matter of fact, looking back at some of my pictures, I see that I had some shots of him before I even knew he was there. It was a really cool experience.

Now the wedding...Bridgette and Jim, some of Erica's friends, got engaged while on the trip here and unknown to everyone, Jim had done his research and gotten everything in order to have a wedding. The entire event was put together in 24 hours. I didn't have two of the needed lenses with me to shoot a wedding, but what the hell, we did it anyway. Adrienne did Bridgette's hair and I shot the wedding. The results turned out pretty good and I think Bridgette and Jim will be very happy with the pictures.

So I know someone famous!!!

I was watching American Idol tonight. I know I know please don't make fun of me. Anyway one of the contestants, a very pretty young lady named Amy Davis, looked very familiar to me the first time I saw her on the show but I couldn't figure it out. Tonight while she was being introduced before her song Ryan introduced here is "Amy Davis from Lowell, IN." Bang!!!! Holy Crap that's AMY! Amy was a model in a class I took in Chicago this summer. I really disliked the class, it wasn't structured very well and it was the last class the school put on before they closed their doors. The models were all really cool people though and made it easier to get through the boring sessions. Amy was a very nice person we made small talk at different times. I'm struggling to find any of the shots I might have of her. Help me wish her good luck.

My 2 year old could kick your 2 year old's butt....

....on the computer. LOL! We woke up the other morning to the clicking sound of a mouse. Briley our 2 year old got up (as she has been doing for a while now) and started her morning visit to her two favorites sites. pbskids.com and nickjr.com. I got some new lenses in the night before and had a camera close to me so I was able to get a few shots of Briley and her "mad" gaming skills in action. Things have been slow this week (we all got sick and had to cancel sessions this weekend). I thought I'd use this as an excuse to put up a picture of one of my girls. Enjoy...and if I could make your computer make clicking sounds in you bedroom at 6AM, I would.

Mallory's newborn session.

Audrey and Chad came over again today but this time they had someone else with them. Introducing Mallory! This little bundle of joy was so cooperative we really grabbed some great pictures for this family today. Mallory is such a beautiful little girl as I'm sure you can tell from the pictures. The session had all the making of a great newborn session...a little #1, a little #2, a hungry baby, and a sleepy baby (the sleepy ones are my favorites). Enough of me rambling on....Here's Mallory.

Our new pricing is complete.

We listened to what you liked and what you didn't like about our first run at pricing(we really didn't expect the studio to take off like it has). The big change is that there is now only 1 discount, the Build Your Own Package discount. This will make it easier for customers to figure their order totals. The Grand Opening sale has ended but some of the prices came down from their original point to a lower price. I think that our customers will love our new pricing and the flexibility it offers over the other studios in the area. Our customers get a new and fresh approach to their portraits and at the same time they typically get many more prints for their money. To check out our new pricing head on over to Rowe Portrait Studios and click on the information link.

My old buddy Evan is 1!

My good friends Jason and Amber brought over their son Evan today. We took pictures to celebrate his first birthday. This kid is hilarious. He is so content just hangin' out especially when you stick a big fat birthday cake in his lap. He went to town on that sucker. It was really funny watching him go after it like that. Here are some from the session.

And that's a Wrap!

The Coolest Flash Mob ever!!!!!

You might have already seen this but I had not. I think we should get all of the Rowe Portrait Studio Customers to do something like this. Maybe do it at Denny's or something. :)
Check it out!
